The Samahang Kooperatiba ng M.Lhuillier Pawnshops' Employees (SAKO), as it is commonly known to its members, was conceptualized in September 1997 and conducted its first ownership meeting with VICTO in December 1997. It was organized and registered with CDA in September 1998. The founder, Mrs. Judith Jardeloza Peralta, CPA, the former ML VisMin General Manager, together with the twenty-five (25) original and founding members, raised a total contribution for the Share Capital amounting to Php 26,000.00 at one thousand pesos each. Upon its registration, the total Capital Share generated was Php 71,500.00, and it began its credit services in 1999.
